Pistol 1 – Mechanics & Marksmanship Course

Whether you’re a new shooter or someone who learned informally from friends or family, this Pistol 1 Mechanics and Marksmanship Course is designed to build a rock‑solid foundation in safe pistol handling, mechanics, and accurate shooting — the essential skills every responsible firearm owner should master.

This course isn’t just about firing rounds downrange — it’s about understanding how your pistol works, why proper technique matters, and how safe, consistent mechanics lead to real accuracy and confidence. Our goal is for every student to leave feeling comfortable and capable with their firearm while understanding the principles behind what they are doing.

What You’ll Learn

In our full‑day session, you’ll be guided through:

  • Comprehensive firearm safety briefing covering range, class, and pistol handling safety.

  • Pistol anatomy, nomenclature, and mechanics — know your tool inside and out.

  • Loading, unloading, and reloading techniques with confidence.

  • Proper stance, grip, sight picture, and recoil mitigation fundamentals.

  • Sight alignment and trigger control for improved accuracy

  • Draw mechanics from holster and smooth presentation on target.

  • Identifying and clearing common malfunctions safely.

  • Multiple live‑fire drills and engaging a steel target at distance to apply all skills learned.

Why This Course Matters

Most shooters, even those with some experience, were never taught in a structured environment — leaving gaps in fundamentals that can limit accuracy, safety, and confidence. This course ensures you start (or reset) with proven marksmanship fundamentals that serve as the building blocks for all future training.

Who This is For

  • First‑time shooters who want to build confidence from the ground up.

  • Shooters with informal experience who want to fill in training gaps.

  • Those preparing to advance to more intermediate or tactical pistol courses.

  • Anyone serious about safe, competent pistol handling and accurate shooting.

If you’ve completed prior formal training from a reputable provider (such as Carry Trainer, Fieldcraft Survival, Tactical Cowboy, etc.) and believe you already meet the prerequisite skill level, contact us at travis@unitedsurvivalstore.com prior to purchasing with documentation of your prior training.
